Annual
Strong Kids Campaign
Each year, February through Autust,
we conduct our annual Strong Kids Sustaining Campaign. Contributions
made during this campaign enable us to fulfill our mission of building
strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Providing kids
with the experience they need to grow into successful adults is the
heart of the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Your donation does make a
difference. Membership and program fees at the YMCA do not cover
all the cost to support these vital community programs. To ensure
that no one is denied a chance to participate because on the inability
to pay, we truly need your help! Through the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign,
your contribution helps us provide program support and financial
assistance to families who need it in our community. Only by working
together we can give more kids the opportunity to grow strong in
spirit, mind, and body. EVERY GIFT GIVES KIDS A CHANCE!
Heritage Club - Endowment
The Heritage Club is a group of people who believe in the need to build strength for the future of the YMCA. Their vision for the YMCA and the health of our community extends beyond the needs of today. They recognize that the YMCA will continue to play a critical role in the future of the children and families of Monroe County, so they are making an investment in that future now through an outright or planned gift to the YMCA’s endowment. A contribution of $1,000 or more to the YMCA endowment is necessary for Heritage Club membership. Your gift can be made in a number of ways depending on your individual preference and situation. Dominick A. Lockwood Youth Center Endowment Fund
Donations made to the Lockwood Youth Center are put into an endowment fund to ensure the long-term viability of the Center. Proceeds of the fund are used to maintain the facility and equipment and to provide free use of the facility to youth and teens who would otherwise not have the opportunity. Capital Campaigns
From time to time we conduct major fund raising campaigns to improve our facilities or open new locations to serve the county.
Fundraising Events
Each year we hold 5 major fundraising events. In the spring we hold our Kid’z Faire, in the summer our Yard Sale and Golf Tournament, in October our Bike Tour, and in November our 5K race. We always need volunteers and sponsors to help us with these events. See the Member Services Desk for more information on these events.
“Triangle Club”
The Pocono Family YMCA “Triangle Club” provides opportunities for you to target your gift to match your interests. The name is reminiscent of the triangle of our threefold mission of building spirit, mind and body, and also represents that fact that the triangle is the strongest of the geometric forms. Similarly, your targeted “Triangle Club” gift can have the strongest impact as it specifically fulfills one of our critical, membership, or program needs.
As you can see by the size and variety of potential Triangle Club needs, we have a great many needs that will continue to go unanswered without your help.
