Late Fees
We expect our members to pay on time. It is a sign of respect for the needs of the Association. When situations arise, as we know they will, that make it impossible for you to meet your financial obligations on time all we ask is that you call us. When you fail to pay on time and fail to call us, late fees will be assessed. Late fees are set by programs and can be found in individual program policies. Once late fees are assessed they become part of your financial obligation to the YMCA. In cases where members are unresponsive, the YMCA will utilize the services of a collection agency.
Financial Assistance
At the YMCA, we serve everyone in our community, regardless of individual economic circumstances. Please ask for a financial scholarship application at the Member Services Desk. The process is completely confidential. Some limitations apply to the amount of scholarship we are able to provide in programs. Certain minimums are applied to program scholarship awards. Those receiving financial assistance are expected to utilize the assistance and to keep track of programs and classes in which they participate. Failure to utilize the award or track participation will result in revocation or nonrenewal of the award.
Valuables
The YMCA is not responsible for valuables left in the locker rooms or any “Y” facility. Do not bring valuables to the YMCA. Members must bring their own locks. The Pocono Family YMCA reserves the right to inspect any and all bags entering or leaving our facilities or remote programming locations.
YMCA Facility Closed
The facility will be closed Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
AED (Automatic External Defibrillator)
We would like to acknowledge and thank the Moyer Family for their generous donation of our AED (automatic external defibrillator) from their foundation.
Weather Cancellations
All weather cancellations and building closings due to inclement weather conditions will be broadcast on WVPO 840AM, WSBG 93.5FM and TV Channel 16.
If there is a school delay in the Stroudsburg Area School District, YMCA classes that are scheduled prior to 9:00 a.m. will be cancelled. On these days, the Child Watch program will open at 9:00 a.m.
If school is cancelled, all programs and classes before 10:00 a.m. will be cancelled as well. Classes and Child Watch after 10:00 a.m. will run at the discretion of the Program Directors. Listen to the above radio and TV stations for updates on evening classes.
Parking
Our parking lot is small and crowded and there is little that we can do about that in the near term. We can, however, try to limit who uses our lot. We have a parking pass system to ensure that our members’ parking privileges are protected. Members get an annual window sticker. Program participants get temporary passes good for the duration of the program. The issuance of our parking sticker is not a guarantee of a parking space. The lot is on a first come first served basis. When the lot is full members and guests are on their own to park according to the Borough of Stroudsburg regulations. Do not park on other private property. Do not park in the Ann Street Outlet Complex or in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot. Persons found parking in our lot without proper YMCA sticker will be towed at the owner’s expense.
