Homeschool PE Program The Pocono Family YMCA is offering swimming and gym as an option for the homeschooler. Children will be instructed in stroke development and participate in organized water games. New skills and techniques will be introduced to improve condition and comfort level. The gym activity will include strength training, sports drills, jump rope and aerobic classes. All activities will be age-appropriate and the aim of this program is to improve strength, endurance, coordination, balance and energy levels. Sessions run Monthy: September 8th-October 1st October 6th - October 29th Gym Time: Fridays from 2-3pm November 3rd - November 24th Swim Time: Fridays from 3-4pm December 1st - December 22nd

Lap lanes are segmented into slow, moderate and fast swimming lanes. The lanes are restricted to those participants who are lap swimming only. Lap Swim participants MUST be at least 14 years of age or a swim team participant. Lap lanes can accommodate up to (5) lap swimmers per lane doing circle swimming.
Recreational Swim This is a great opportunity for parents and children to swim together in a recreational setting. Children 12 years and under MUST be accompanied by an adult(age 18 or older) in the pool area at all times. Participants of the pool are permitted to use the clue bubbles that are hanging on the pool wall, but an adult MUST accompany their child in the deep end. Participants may bring their own swim toys to the pool. Toys include: mask(goggles) and snorkel, noodles, balls, flexible diving sticks, and small plastic toys. NO arm wings innertubes or rafts/floats are allowed in the pool. YMCA equipment MAY NOT be used, for its purpose is soley for swimming instruction ONLY. ALL individuals MUST change in the locker rooms.
WaterWorks Aquatics Exercise Classes These classes are an excellent way to workout and put no strain on your joints. Effective use of the waters natural resistance helps to improve the cardiovascular fitness and sculpt your muscles. Children under 12 years of age are not permitted to attend these classes. Fees: Free for Members $9 for Non-Members Y Water Fit 4 Life Shallow Water workout with callenging cardiovascular exercise(moderate to low impact). Mondays & Fridays from 10:30-11:15am. Deep Water Works This class is taught in the deep end of the pool, has no impact on the joints and includes strengthening exercises. (Flotation belts are used) Mondays from 6-6:45pm H20 Fitness Start with 30 minutes of deep water cardiovascular exercise and end with 10-15 minutes of gentle strengthening and flexibility moves. Tuesdays at 9:45am and thursdays at 9:15am Making Waves An intense and refreshing shallow water workout that strengthens the cardiovascular system and conditiones the whole body. 30-35 minutes of aerobic conditioning and 5-10 minutes of resistance and flexibility training. Tuesdays at 10:45am and Thursdays at 10am H2O Ready-Set-Go A Deep Water wourout with moderate to high impact designed to help lose weight, tone, increase strength, and condition the body. Includes exercises that target specific muscle groups and cardiovascular endurance. Wednesdays at 10:30am Brunch Bunch Meet with your peers in the pool to walk and talk. Not an instructor led class. Mondays & Wednesdays from 10-10:30am and Wednesdays from 11:30am-Noon.
YMCA Facilities Rental Have your next overnight adventure at the YMCA! Use of facilities includes access to the following areas: Pool, Front Lobby Multi-Purpose Room with bathroom, Gymnasium and both locker rooms. Call for availability and pricing.
Birrthday Splash Parties! Have your child's birthday party at the YMCA! Two hour splash parties include one hour in the pool and one hour in our "party" room. Parties are held on Saturdays and Sundays. Contact Joanne at ext 137 for more information or to book your party.
