American Heart Association Basic Life Support Classes

BLS - Basic Life Support
This course is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest. It is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills. Class covers adult, child and infant CPR, use of AED, bag mask and choking. This class runs approximately 4.5 hours.
Participant $85 (includes student manual)

BLS - Skiils Testing Session
For persons who have completed The BLS - Basic Life
Support online Part 1 Course. Skills testing on
manikins, use of AED and bag mask device, and
choking procedures, will take approximately 2 hours.
Participant $50 (includes student manual)

Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED
This course is designed to prepare students to
provide first aid and CPR and to use an AED in a safe,
timely, and effective manner. It is intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory, or other requirements, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.  This class runs approximately 5-6 hours.

CPR Only $75.00
1st Aid only $65.00

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED
This course teaches students to respond to and
manage illnesses and injuries in a child or an infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The course is intended for child care workers, teachers,foster-care workers, and camp/youth counselors, coaches for children’s sports organizations, parents, grandparents, baby-sitters, and guardians.  The course covers CPR and first aid, for child and an infant, use of AED and more.  This class runs approximately 5-6 hours.

Stewards of Children

Darkness to Light - End Child Sexual Abuse

Stewards of Children is a prevention training program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.  In this 3 hour workshop, adults will view a three-part DVD containing commentary from sexual abuse survivors and experts in the field, utilize their participant workbook and participate in facilitator-led discussions. 

Stewards of Children:

  • Increases awareness of the prevalence, consequences and circumstances of child sexual abuse
  • Provides new skills for adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse
  • Promotes positive change to organizational policies and procedures
  • Increases individual commitment to action through a personal prevention plan

This program is presented at the Pocono Family YMCA or we can bring it to your organization!  Great training for youth based organizations, churches, day cares, after school programs and anyone who cares about the welfare of children.

 Adult Dances

Adult Dances are held the last Sunday of each month in our gymnasium.  Come out and dance the evening away with your firends with entertainment provided by a live DJ. Music includes Waltz, East Coast Swing, Cja-Cha, West Coast Swing and more.

Super Sitters Class

Boy and girls ages 11 years old and up will learn how to become competent and responsible baby sitters.  They will learn infant and child CPR, Fire Safety, liability issues and much more.

Program runs on Thursday nights from March 7- March 28, 2019.

Time: 6:30pm -8:30pm each night

Cost: Members $52   Non-members $80
